Because you'll start building and refining your design skills in your first semester, you'll be qualified for internships sooner than many of your peers at other institutions. When you begin to apply for internships and jobs, you'll have the tools you need to stand out in a highly competitive market.
You'll have opportunities to intern with a variety of agencies and businesses, from internationally known companies—such as Solidarity of Unbridled Labour, Burton, Rome Snowboard Design, and Select Design—to local not-for-profit organizations. Through our Emergent Media Center and other Centers of Experience, you can work alongside students from other disciplines to complete design projects for real clients.
We want you to be well prepared for your first internship, externship, or other fieldwork. After your first year of exploratory practical education, you'll be ready to work with your Career Advisor to take the next step.
Local and national employers turn to Champlain for college interns because they are better prepared to work in professional environments than the majority of their peers from other institutions. Many Champlain graduates receive full- and part-time job offers from the organizations where they first took their internships or externships.
