Outreach and Education

Our Outreach & Education services include workshop facilitation, screening days, crisis event responses/debriefing, liaison relationships with departments and organizations on campus, interviews, tabling, social media, psychoeducational materials (printed as well as web-based), and community campaigns.

Please note that we frequently receive requests to attend events with a sensitive or difficult subject matter. Although we want to support every student the best we can, Counseling Center staff are not able to accommodate all requests to be present in the event a student might be affected by the content of a presentation, workshop, event, or class.

We ask that when planning events to please consider:

  • What are the goals for your event?
  • Should you consider a content warning if your event will include graphic descriptions, depictions, discussions of war, identity-based violence/hate crimes, abuse, sexual violence, or self-harm?
  • How can you make attendees aware of support services on campus? Will you make an announcement and/or include information in your materials and handouts? If a student is experiencing a mental health crisis and needs to speak to someone immediately, please call the on-call counselor at 802.865.5745 or Campus Public Safety at 802.865.6465.
