Our Impact

The Champlain College Library strives to support student learning and discovery through innovative in-person and digital strategies both in and out of the classroom. Further, the library team actively contributes to the scholarly and professional conversations in our community through publication, presentation, and service.

Learning Support

Teaching students how to become skilled and effective information users is the main priority. Integrating librarians in the classroom establishes the skills that students need to engage meaningfully with information and apply those skills throughout the curriculum.

Building Community

Hosting events–many in collaboration with partners such as the Women’s and Gender Center, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Champlain Maker Program–gives students and employees the chance to share their passions with the community and experience something new.

Essential Resources

With more than 150 library databases, most importantly our discovery tool ChampSearch, students have constant access to the library when they need it.

ACRL Award

The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) recognized the Champlain College Library with the Excellence in Academic Libraries Award in 2012. The committee said that the Champlain Library impressed them with its nontraditional approach to instruction and a positive student-driven environment. Today the Champlain College Library continues to strive in these categories with one of the largest teams of student staff on campus.
