Application Process
You will automatically be considered for Champlain’s merit scholarships along with your admission application—no further applications are necessary.
However, if you want to be considered for additional need-based aid including scholarships, grants, federal work-study and loans, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The FAFSA is the only financial aid application required by Champlain College in order to receive financial aid.

Renew Your Financial Aid
- Returning students are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year in order to renew their financial aid. Please renew your FAFSA form by April 1. Champlain’s school code is 003684.
- Complete the entire student section. A parent must complete the parent section if the student is considered a dependent. Both the student and the parent (if you are a dependent) must electronically sign the FAFSA before submission.
- Once you complete the FAFSA, your Champlain College scholarships will be renewed at the same level, provided you are enrolled in at least 12 credits.
However, renewal of federal and state awards depends upon current law, the level of federal and state funds available, and meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements.

- If you complete the FAFSA by April 1 and submit any additional required documents in a timely manner, you can expect to receive your award letter by the middle of June.
