Career Support for Alumni

Champlain College alumni are the backbone of the College community. We strive to support our alumni by providing opportunities for professional development, networking, and job search resources. Here are some ways that we can support your continued pursuit of career success!

  • Is your resume out of date? Make sure you’re updating it on a regular basis and following the basic Resume Writing Guidelines. Also, to really make your resume stand our, be sure that you:

    1. Tailor it to the job you are applying for by including your qualifications for the position right up at the top of your resume.
    2. Begin your phrases with action verbs and quantify (use percentages, frequencies, duration, amounts, etc.) to show the measurable results of your work.
    3. Include industry-related key words throughout your resume, and lastly,
    4. Highlight your accomplishments! The resume is the place to show off what you’ve achieved!

Champlain College Career Coaches will review your updated resume when feasible. We do not write resumes, but we will provide you with feedback on your draft resume if you would like. You may e-mail your resume and a copy of the job posting you are applying for, if applicable, to careercollaborative@champlain.edu. Turnaround time is usually up to ten days, depending on student needs at the time of your request.
