Streaming Video Collections

Champlain College Library subscribes to several streaming media collections. Combined with our individual licenses, the library has access to more than 90,000 videos. Click one of the links below to access a library streaming media collection directly.


A small number of our licensed streaming videos are only findable by searching our library catalog. Most of the films not listed anywhere but in the catalog are documentaries that have been licensed for use in specific classes.

searchAVON (Academic Video Online)
A subscription service that allows for immediate viewing of all films in its collection. Academic Video Online features over 60,000 documentaries, major feature films, demonstrations and more spanning the widest range of subject areas including anthropology, education,business, counseling, film, health, history, music, and more. AVON easily allows you to copy a permalink f or embed code for each of its films. You can search for films in this collection  in the library catalog or from the AVON website.

searchFilms on Demand - Business and Economics
A subscription service that allows for immediate viewing of all films in its collection. This collection features nearly 2,000 videos on topics of business education, technology, economics, ethics, law, finance, marketing, and management. The videos are from producers including ABCNews, PBS, TED, Frontline, and the History Channel. Films on Demand easily allows you to copy a permalink or embed code for each of its films. You can search for films in this collection in the library catalog or from the FoD website.

search GDC Vault

A collection of in-depth design, technical, and inspirational talks and slide decks from the influencers of the game development industry, taken from over 20 years of the worldwide Game Developers Conference. Contains over 12,000 videos, audio files and synced presentations from speakers and panels.

searchKanopy Streaming Video
This streaming video service requires faculty to request films for a rental license to be purchased (1 Year) that the library does not currently have a license for. This can be done directly on the Kanopy website. Kanopy includes videos sourced from leading producers around the world including BBC, PBS, A&E, and the Criterion Collection. Kanopy easily allows you to copy a permalink or embed code for each of its films.  You can search for films with current rental licenses in this collection in the library catalog or from the Kanopy website.

searchO'Reilly Books (previously Safari Tech Books) 

O'Reilly is a premier technology ebook and instructional video collection covering topics ranging from programming, IT networking, project management, graphic design, and business strategy. The content includes code snippets, certification preparation materials, practice exercises, training videos, and much more. You can search for films in this collection in the library catalog or from the O'Reilly website.

searchSwank
Swank is a film rental service. This is a small collection. All titles in this collection have been requested by the Faculty and have a 1 year license. Swank easily allows you to copy a permalink or embed code for each of its films. You can search for films in this collection in the library catalog or from the Swank website.
