Librarians and library professional staff can help you at any stage of the research process. Stop into the Miller Information Commons and ask to speak with a member of the Reference Team or contact us via any of the modalities featured below.
Make an Appointment
A member of the Reference Team can meet you in person at the Miller Information Commons or online via Google Meet.
Monday-Friday: 10am - 5pm:
- For up-to-date availability or to self-book an appointment, visit our online booking system.
Monday-Thursday: 5pm - 8pm:
- A member of the Reference Team can usually make arrangements to meet with you during this time period. Advance notice is appreciated. Contact referencedesk@champlain.edu with your desired meeting time, preferred meeting modality, and information about the research project you are working on.
Exceptions: Appointments will not be available on days when the library is closed.

Chat
Keep an eye out for the Librarian Chat feature on the library's homepage, on this page, and embedded in many databases and guides.

Special Collections
For topics related to Champlain College history or Vermont history, Special Collections can answer reference queries and provide access to unique primary sources in the Special Collections Reading Room. Contact specialcollections@champlain.edu with a question or an appointment request.
Special Collections Reading Room Hours
The Reading Room is located on the lower level of the Miller Information Commons, Room G08.
Tuesday: 2 pm - 4 pm
Thursday: 4 pm - 6 pm
Exceptions: The Reading Room will be closed on days when the library is closed.
Digital Scholarship Support
The library currently provides reference support in the use of a variety of digital scholarship tools. Additionally, we can provide assistance in locating open data for digital scholarship projects, including GIS data and textual datasets.
