194 St. Paul Street is a new student residence developed by Champlain College, offering apartment-style living in a vibrant, downtown location. Located just .5 miles from Campus and two blocks from the Church Street Marketplace, the 6-story mid-rise is a mixed-use facility containing 4,400 square feet of street-level retail with 105 apartments for 314 Champlain College students above. In addition, there are 53 public parking spaces, including two short-term spaces and one Carshare space.
When it opens in the Summer of 2018, 194 St. Paul Street will support Champlain's long-term commitment articulated in its 2007 Master Plan to house 90% of its students on campus, or in College-managed residences. In doing so, the College also relieves pressure exerted by students on the tight Burlington residential rental market. With Champlain taking a long-term property management role for the facility, 194 St. Paul Street will be consistent with the stewardship demonstrated with other existing building projects on campus.
