Mail Center

The Champlain College Mail Center is located in the Center for Communication & Creative Media (CCM) building on first floor next to the Campus Store. The Mail Center receives, distributes and sends out residential student and employee departmental mail for the college.

The Champlain College Campus Store is located within the Center for Communication & Creative Media and offers textbooks, software, supplies and all necessary academic accessories. There is also a selection of gifts, apparel and sundries.

The online campus store is run through a partnership with eFollett. Purchase books, apparel, gifts and gift cards online and get them delivered anywhere.

Services

Furniture Management

Champlain purchases and maintains all campus furniture centrally to ensure that campus spaces have quality, universally accessible, well maintained pieces which conform to our campus standard. If you need furniture or furniture repairs please contact Kate Cronin.
Vending

We proudly partner with Prestige Vending to provide drinks, snacks and healthy choices for people on the go. Machines are located in the majority of residence halls as well as MIC, Ireland, CCM, and Metz Barn. Coffee is available in the Miller Information Commons (MIC) to fuel library research or study sessions.

As part of Champlain College’s ongoing sustainability efforts, bottled water is no longer sold in vending machines to encourage the use of refillable water bottles
Dining & Retail Food Options

Partnering with Sodexo, our main dining hall is a member of the Vermont Fresh Network and is open all day for a-la-carte dining using a meal plan, commuter plan or pay per meal. For more options you can visit EATS Dining and Lounge, located in the Center for Communications & Creative Media building, where we have Zime, a coffee shop proudly serving Starbucks, and CRU5H, a dining option with a wide variety of menu offerings that satisfy any craving.

Custodial

Having clean spaces to live and learn in is a top priority at Champlain College. Our custodial partners are Coastal Building Maintenance (CBM) for the residential halls and JaniTech for offices and classrooms.

All cleaning supplies are green to support our campus-wide focus on sustainability.

Anyone in the Champlain community can use our Facilities Request system to put in work orders for anything from replacing light bulbs to repairing a computer network port.

There is a Vermont Federal Credit Union ATM located in the vestibule entrance of the Center for Communication & Creative Media. It features a touch screen, envelope-free deposit capabilities, the ability to view scanned check images, and itemized cash on the receipt following a transaction. Signage

All of our buildings have been identified with new signs that fit our historical district and college brand.
- Our “green walk” signs identify green initiatives on our campus.
- Smoke-free zones are represented by thoughtful and attractive signs placed around campus.
- A beautiful stone gateway sign marks the entrance to the campus.
- A large campus map will be installed on the corner of South Willard and Maple.
As new buildings are built and historic buildings are rehabilitated, interior signs will also be upgraded to meet plan specifications.

Fun Fact About Me	I had 3.5 years of winter without a summer (by choice!) as I chased snow between Utah and New Zealand. I managed to ride my snowboard 200 days per year and loved every minute of it.

Biography

Nic is the AVP of Planning and Operations. He helps the Campus Operations teams of Facilities (buildings and grounds), Campus Services (Foodservice, Custodial, Transportation, Campus Store, Mail Center and other services), Sustain Champlain and the Conference and Event Center create world class places and services for our students, employees and visitors. He also manages all long range planning and construction projects at the college.

Nic has been at Champlain since 2014, previously working in the City of Burlington Zoning Office. He gained a Bachelor of Resource Studies, Majoring in Planning from Lincoln University, New Zealand in 2002. Nic moved to the United States in 2003 and has lived in Utah, New York state and Vermont ever since. He earned a Master of Science in Human Relations and Organization Development from Champlain College in 2020 (what a year to do a masters degree…thanks Covid).

Nic lives in South Burlington (a short bike ride away, regardless of the season) with his wife Amy and two children Sage and Cora. We proudly bike to work and school every day of the year, yes even in deep winter.

What are your hobbies?

Nic loves riding bikes (any kind), snowboarding and playing golf. He is also excited to do almost any outdoor activity. Is drinking coffee a hobby?

The dirt roads of the Vermont countryside are some of the best places to ride a bike in the world.

Biography

Kate Cronin is the Assistant Director of Campus Operations. Hers is a multifaceted role that includes oversight of campus services – Champlain Dining, Campus Store, Mail Center, Transportation, Sustain Champlain, custodial services as well as oversight of furnishings, furniture procurement, signage, and the College’s rented spaces and retail tenants.

In addition, Kate assists with project management for space planning, space conversion, and building renovations.

When she is not at work, Kate enjoys long walks and short runs with her dog Rudder, travel in any iteration, and trying to keep current on the comings and goings of her three almost adult children, Alden, McKenna, and Liam.

Kate has been working at Champlain College since 2017, enjoys the community and is fully engaged with the great work the Campus Operations and Planning team does as well as the mission of “team Champlain”.

What are your hobbies?

Running, reading, writing, paddle boarding

Biography

Hallie Pixley is the Sustainable Transportation Coordinator with Campus Operations, where she passionately advocates for biking and active transportation. A 2024 graduate of Champlain College, Hallie holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Policy. Her dedication to promoting sustainable transportation solutions is driven by her commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being.

What are your hobbies?

Hallie loves biking, skiing, playing guitar, going to see live music, and painting/drawing (as well as most things involving the great outdoors).

Nothing beats The Grey Jay’s shakshuka followed by a bike ride down the Colchester Causeway!

Biography

Edward Schlak is a Champlain College Alum of the class of 2013 graduating with a degree in Secondary Education. After graduation Edward spent several years working for the USPS as a Mail Carrier as well as managing shipping and receiving for other institutions. He returned to Champlain in 2021 as the Mail Center Coordinator managing a team of student workers who process all incoming and outgoing deliveries for the college. In his spare time he enjoys disc golf and gardening.
