Bader Renovation

Bader HallOver the summer historic Bader Hall underwent and complete renovation, managed by Tom Bonnette and the College Physical Plant team. This renovation was a "gut/rehab" similar to other dormitory renovations completed on campus over the past several summers.

Work commenced on May 7th when interior systems and finishes of the building were removed, exposing the brick masonry and wood frame structural elements. Since then, the building is being renovated with new systems and finishes, including slate roofing; upgraded thermal envelope (high density foam insulation); heating; and plumbing fixtures and finishes. In addition, life safety systems are being upgraded to meet current codes including ADA requirements.

While the interior floor plan has been modified to respond to current codes and modern student lifestyle, care has been taken to honor the elegant architectural history of the building. For example, the main entry foyer and corridor features restored millwork, doorways and lighting fixtures. Special thanks to architect Colin Lindberg and his team for their work in guiding the design of this project.
