Perry Hall

A May 28 ground-breaking ceremony began the long-anticipated restoration of 251 South Willard St. to convert the historic Perry Hall at Champlain College to a new student "Welcome and Admissions Center."  Perry Hall houses the Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrar's Office, and the Office of International Education departments.

An addition to the west side of the historic building includes offices and a presentation and conference room. The original structure's open staircase, ornate historic details and ground floor rooms were preserved and used for reception and conference spaces. Perry Hall's former library space houses a collection of documents, photos and historic artifacts related to the Burlington Hill Section District.

The plan also called for energy-efficient climate control systems, including a geothermal pump from Perry Hall's deep wells. Perry Hall received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification, the highest USGBC green certification obtainable.
