Office of Diversity & Inclusion

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion (ODI) focuses on advancing Champlain College's commitment to diversity, community, and inclusion by serving as a central resource on issues related to race, ethnicity, culture, and inclusivity.

The ODI accomplishes this through academic and sociocultural advising, developing and facilitating various programs, and advocating on behalf of students and communities. Programming includes campus-wide education and training, intercultural engagement, and efforts that promote the matriculation quality of students of all identities.

Partnered with students, faculty, and campus colleagues, ODI staff provide anchors of support to historically underrepresented students.

Mission Statement:

Champlain College's Office of Diversity & Inclusion aims to create a welcoming, accepting, and affirming environment for all students, while providing support to underrepresented student populations.

Objectives of the ODI:

  • Work to create a safe, equitable, supportive, and empowering community for all. Our team is committed to enhancing student academic and personal achievement through graduation and beyond.
  • Work in partnership with other College offices to support and enhance students' exploration and pursuit of academic, professional, and career interests while in college and beyond.
  • Provide programming focused on diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice. Work closely with the Department of Student Life and larger campus community to further outreach, advocacy, and education.
  • Offer an inclusive and welcoming physical space. Our staff can provide guidance and support as well as referrals to College and community resources.
