Current Champlain students (on-campus and on-line) will have access to ClaudePro at no charge through June 2027.
How to Access Claude Pro
Create a Free Claude.ai Account
- Visit claude.ai and create a free account
- IMPORTANT: You MUST use your @mymail.champlain.edu email address when creating your account to qualify for the free Pro upgrade
- If you already have a free claude.ai account, there is no need to take additional action to get the free Pro upgrade
Upgrade Process
- After creating your account with your Champlain student email, Anthropic’s support team will upgrade your account to the Pro tier
- This process may take up to one week from the time you create your account
- You do not need to contact support or take any additional steps and will be able to use your free account in the meantime. The upgrade will happen automatically, and you will not lose access to your prior work.
Verification
- You can verify your Pro status by checking the account settings in your Claude dashboard.

Q: It’s been over a week and my account still has not been upgraded to Claude Pro.
A:
- Confirm your account
- Ensure you are signing in with your Champlain email address on the claude.ai website
- Do you have an existing ClaudePro account associated with your Champlain email address?
- If you do, you’ll need to cancel it. Once the cancellation takes effect at the end of your term (end of month for monthly or end of year for annual), your account will automatically be upgraded to Claude Pro through June 2027 at no cost.
