We offer payment plans that enable you to pay your Champlain bill over the course of several months. To learn more about this option and view the available plans, visit champlain.edu/payment-plans. Note: Families that choose a payment plan must re-enroll in the plan each semester.
Families who do not choose a payment plan will make two tuition payments. The Fall semester bill is due in full by August 1, 2022; the Spring semester bill is due in full by December 2, 2022. If you are paying by check, including 529 Plan disbursements, please be sure to leave plenty of time for the payment to arrive on time to avoid late payment fees.
Within a week of depositing, you will receive an email from Champlain with the username and temporary password for your Champlain College Student Account (subject: "Activate Your Champlain College Student Account").
After you receive the email, activate your Champlain College Student Account as soon as possible (instructions are provided on the activation page; follow instructions for "New Users"). Note: You will not be able to complete your Housing Preference Form until you have received the email with your username and temporary password and you have activated your account.
You may designate Authorized Users (parents/guardians) to help manage the bill paying process. Unless parents/guardians are specifically authorized, only you will have access to view and/or pay the bill. You can find directions for setting up Authorized Users in our Compass Student Services website under "Authorized Users."
All first-year students (with the exception of Degree Design Lab majors) are required to take COR 101 and COR 102 in their first semester. These courses are the foundation of our Core curriculum and must be taken in conjunction with one another. For Core 102, students have a choice of what course topic they would like to take. Check your email in early June to find the link to the form where you can choose from the selected topics and please submit the form by June 17. Over the summer, your Academic Specialist will schedule you into courses based on your topic preferences and your availability. Visit the Core Curriculum Year One page to see the topics for Fall 2022. To learn more about the Core, visit champlain.edu/core.

Your Champlain ID is something you'll use everyday-it serves as your student ID, meal plan card, residence hall key, and even a debit card at certain on- and off-campus locations. To get started, you'll create a WebCard account, where you'll upload a photo for your ID card by August 1. Then, you can make an online deposit to add funds to your card. You'll be able to use your ID card like cash at the campus store, mailroom, and campus laundry facilities plus multiple vendors in the greater Burlington area. Your ID card also allows you to ride for free on any bus in Chittenden County!
TO SUBMIT A PHOTO FOR YOUR CHAMPLAIN ID CARD:
Find or take a color picture of yourself that you are pleased with (no hats, no sunglasses!). The image should be cropped to a square with your face and upper shoulders centered and plenty of space around the sides and top. Solid color backgrounds, please. It must be identifiably "you" or it will be rejected.
The Office of International Student Services hosts a mandatory International Student Orientation from Monday, August 23–Thursday, August 26 to help new and transfer international students and exchange visitors adjust to the campus and community. This orientation is in addition to New Student Orientation. Students are expected to arrive at Champlain College on either Saturday, August 20, or Sunday, August 21. If students arrive earlier, housing, food, and transportation will be their personal responsibility.
Although not required for U.S. dual citizens or New Americans, International Student Orientation is open to U.S. dual citizens, New Americans, U.S. Refugees, U.S. Assylees, and U.S. Permanent Residents, especially if they have lived and been educated outside of the U.S. for most of their lives.
Please note that dates are tentative and are subject to change due to COVID-19 measures. Any changes will be communicated to students who have registered by the deadline of August 1, 2022. The fee for International Student Orientation is $150.00 USD. To pay and register, please visit: https://forms.champlain.edu/form_international/orientation.
Please contact Jessa Karki at jkarki@champlain.edu if you have further questions.

Link to this FAQChamplain College recognizes that transgender, nonbinary, and/or gender-nonconforming students may not use the name that they were assigned at birth, as it does not reflect their identity.
We also recognize that, for a variety of reasons, students may not wish to go through a legal name change—or may be in the middle of doing so—but wish to have their school records reflect their chosen name before the process is complete. To accommodate this, the College has staff in place to assist students who wish to update their email addresses, academic class listings, and ID cards with their chosen name.
To inquire about or begin the process of updating an email address, academic class listing, and ID card, please contact Lisa Mazzariello at mazzariello@champlain.edu. The request to use a chosen name can be made at any point after July 2.
Students scheduled to take MTH 230: Calculus I in the fall, including those students majoring in Applied Mathematics, Game Programming, and Computer Science & Innovation, are required to take and pass an online Calculus Readiness Test before being enrolled in MTH 230. If you did not receive information by email about the Calculus Readiness Test by July 8, but are interested in taking MTH 230, please contact Dr. Melanie Brown at mbrown@champlain.edu.
