Transfer Applicants

Ready to join us at Champlain? We can't wait to welcome you.

Champlain enrolls 50 to 100 transfer students each year throughout both the fall and spring semesters, meaning we review and accept applications continuously throughout the year. Please read these step-by-step instructions carefully as the application process for transfer students does differ from those of first-time students.

If you have any questions (about the transfer process or Champlain in general!), please do not hesitate to reach out to our Admissions team. Our Transfer Admissions Counselor can guide you through the application process, and a Transfer Advisor can assist you with a credit evaluation.

Transfer Admission Criteria

What do we look for in your application? Champlain is seeking transfer students with the ability to thrive both academically and personally on our vibrant campus. More emphasis is placed on your college-level coursework than your high school transcripts for admission consideration, unless you've completed less than one year of college credit. If you have completed less than one year of college credit, your high school transcript is given more weight in admissions consideration.

Contact Leah Miller, transfer admissions counselor, by phone at (802) 383-6635 or by email at lnmiller@champlain.edu to discuss criteria details.

What happens next?

Transfer admissions is rolling. Upon admission, you will receive a Transfer Credit Evaluation (and financial aid letter) along with your letter of acceptance. Based on the credit evaluation, the Associate Registrar will create a class schedule for your first semester at Champlain, so you can be sure you're making progress toward your degree.
