Res "A" Project Construction Updates

The first phase of Champlain College's Res Tri project started in mid-June of 2011 and will consist of one hall (Res A), with the other two halls constructed as a part of Phase II. Res A will be located between Skiff Hall and Whiting. Completion for occupancy is planned for the fall 2012 semester.

About the Res "A" Project

The "Res A" building consists of a 29,200 GSF residential structure, housing 95 total students in double and single rooms. The project includes site improvements, existing utility upgrades, and new utility connections to the City infrastructure. The residence hall is four stories, including an occupied "attic" space. Interior spaces include common rooms, laundry, ski tuning room, trash room and other spaces commonly found in state of the art residence halls. Exterior and site elements include a student patio, sitting walls and landscaping.

The college is planning to install a geothermal heating and cooling system in this project. Champlain is committed to developing a "green" or "high efficiency" building and is currently seeking LEED certification for this new building.

On June 1, 2011 Pizzagalli Construction Company will officially change its name to PC Construction Company. This change reflects the natural evolution from a small family business started in 1958 to an industry-leading company that's now 100% employee owned. PC Construction will be the primary team working on this project with Champlain College.
