Day one of Beavers Get Lit!
Wednesday, April 8th
- 5:00–5:45 PM: Mix and Mingle. Join authors and friends on the MIC 3rd floor patio/Vista Room for some convivial schmoozing with the best view in Burlington.
- 6:00–6:05 PM: Convocation Poem. Jim Ellefson, unofficial poet laureate of Leicester, Vermont, will kick things off with an ode to all things bookish.
- 6:05–6:30 PM: Welcome Address. Erik Shonstrom will welcome attendees and offer some reminders about the amazing events over the course of the festival, as well as a quick excerpt from a recent book.
- 6:30–6:45 PM: Tanya Stone Reading. Drawing from a list of publications as long as her arm, Tanya will be mesmerizing guests with a selection from some of her works. Prepare to be enchanted.
- 6:45–7:15 PM: Student Reading. Get ready. Champlainers get hectic behind the mic with an offering of poems, stories, and wordplay unlike anything you’ve ever heard! Boomers be warned.
- 7:15–7:45 PM: Sheila Liming Reading. Offering some excerpts of her work, Sheila will delight, intrigue, and dazzle attendees with her insight and charm. Feel free to come ‘hang out’ with her! Pun intended.
- 7:45–8:15 PM: Book Olympics Trivia with Prizes!
