Champlain's Bachelor of Science program in Broadcast Media Production gives students a rich background in producing and directing studio and field-based productions. Our program offers a wide array of video, audio, and writing courses—all in a small classroom environment.
Students take on client-based projects beginning in their sophomore year and will complete their studies with a semester-long documentary project during their senior year. You'll have opportunities to showcase your work on Vermont television channels and radio stations.

Every year, Broadcast Media Production majors have the opportunity to gain valuable experience participating in national and regional competitions.
In 2018, our students won prestigious awards and earned recognition from the New England chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the BEA's Festival of Media Arts, and the Intercollegiate Broadcast System's national awards. Their work included long-and short-form documentaries, public service projects, and community affairs and feature reporting. Students in this major have also had their work broadcast on the Made Here program with Vermont PBS and Burlington's RETN.
