Upon successful completion of your studies, Champlain College will recommend you for licensure in the state of Vermont.
Graduates are well prepared for the required state tests. The Vermont Department of Education requires successful completion of The Core Praxis (academic skills) and Praxis II: Elementary Education Content exams, as well as a GPA of 3.0 or higher for candidates to be eligible for a State of Vermont teaching license.
If your goal is to teach in another state, you'll be able to work with your Faculty Advisor to plan for the move.
Champlain students have a lot of advantages after graduation:
Alumni have gone on to careers as early childhood and elementary educators across the country.
100% of our 2019 Early Childhood/Elementary Teacher Education graduates are employed within six months after graduating, and of those, 100% are in positions relevant to their career goals.

Champlain's Career Collaborative team surveys alumni six months after graduation to find out how job searches are going. The College-wide results below are based on an outstanding 91% response rate—significantly higher than most post-graduation college surveys.
Our graduates are thriving; their Champlain education prepared them with real-world experience that sets them apart in their field.
