Filmmaking (BFA) Portfolio Requirements

To be fully considered for admission into the Filmmaking (BFA) major, you must submit one of the following to Slideroom for the Portfolio Review:

  1. A video or movie upload that is up to five minutes in length or 120MB in size, OR
  2. A hyperlink or links to original video or film work (e.g., on Vimeo or YouTube), OR
  3. A combination of written and visual work: a 3–5 page film script or short story that captures your storytelling abilities AND several pieces (3–5) of visual work (drawing, photography, digital art) that showcases your ability to think visually.

Students applying to the Filmmaking (BFA) major should demonstrate an ability to portray an interesting story through video or writing as well as an ability to create engaging visual images. The faculty will evaluate submissions based on these criteria. Please contact your Admissions Counselor for specific questions on the Filmmaking (BFA) Portfolio Review requirement.

File your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by these dates to ensure that your financial aid award includes all of the institutional and federal aid you are eligible to receive. If you complete your FAFSA after these dates we will still determine all of your award eligibility, it will just take longer from the time you received your Admissions notification to get this information to you.
