Check-in: 8:00–9:00 AM | Open House Event: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM

Not all schools are created equal.

We do things differently here.

At Champlain, you'll experience small class sizes and professors who are 100% dedicated to giving you the best possible education. We're not talking textbooks and lectures—we're talking hands-on, practical learning from professors who have extensive industry experience in their fields. They bring their expertise into the classroom and get you out into the real world to learn from your own experiences as soon as possible.

Our innovative Upside-Down Curriculum gets you started in the classes that matter most to you—beginning in your very first semester—so you can start internships as early as the summer after your first year.

An award-winning college focused entirely on your success.

There's no doubt that our approach is one of the reasons that, year after year, we appear in the most prestigious college ranking guides. Some of our recent accolades include:

  • The Princeton Review's 2020 "The Best 385 Colleges" and 2019 "Guide to 361 Green Colleges"
  • A "Most Innovative School" in U.S. News & World Report's 2020 "America's Best Colleges" regional rankings
  • One of the "best and most interesting schools" in the United States, Canada and Great Britain, according to the Fiske Guide to Colleges for 2020
  • A 2020 College of Distinction
  • "Top School for Game Design" in 2019 in The Princeton Review
  • #12 in the nation for our percentage of students studying abroad among leading colleges and universities by the Institute of International Education
  • The National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security have designated Champlain College as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education

And that's just to name a few.

Refer a Friend and get a Champlain sweatshirt!

Have a friend who is a junior or senior in high school and is looking at colleges? If you are planning a visit to our campus in Burlington, Vermont, we'd love for you to invite them to come with you.

When you register to come to campus for Winter Open House, you'll have the opportunity to refer a friend right on the registration form. All we need is their first and last name and a valid email address—we take care of the rest.

We'll send an email to your friend telling them you referred them (with the date of the event). There is a special Refer-a-Friend link in the email that will allow them to register for the same event you registered for. All they need to do is click that link and sign up. Please note: they MUST register through the special link, or we won't know that you referred them. If the friend you refer registers for and attends the event, YOU BOTH get a nice (like, really nice) Champlain sweatshirt at the event.

Please note: Limit one sweatshirt per student.

Our Visit Scholarship rewards you for showing up.

We believe in the value of a college visit—so much so that when you visit our campus (through any official visit, including Winter Open House), you'll immediately be eligible for our $4,000 Visit Scholarship.

That's $1,000 per year! Like all of your awards, the Count-On-It Financial Aid Guarantee means you can count on this money for all four years that you're enrolled full-time.

If you've already visited us, you already have the scholarship! Refer a friend to come along, so they can be eligible for the scholarship, too!

Give perspective to your whole college search.

When you come to the Champlain College Winter Open House, you'll begin to see for yourself the benefits of:

  • an innovative, career-focused approach to higher education (our grads consistently land jobs in their field at rates higher than national averages);
  • faculty with extensive industry experience in the subject areas in which they teach;
  • a stunningly beautiful campus (we argue it's one of the most beautiful in the country);
  • a creative, ambitious, and tight-knit community and outstanding student life activities, clubs and trips;
  • residence halls you can really call home (because they are actually houses—Victorian-era mansions, to be specific).

It will give you a good benchmark for what to ask and look for as you visit other schools.

Get ready to discover the major difference of Champlain.

If you've been researching colleges, you already know that most lists of majors look about the same, with maybe a few that stand out from those you've seen nearly everywhere else.

When you look at Champlain College's list of majors, can you see what links them together? We'll spare you the suspense: Champlain's career-focused majors offer the greatest potential for future employment.

So, on our list of majors, you'll find some "traditional" fields—like Accounting, Communication and Social Work—and you'll find many "nontraditional" majors that you probably haven't seen anywhere else, like Data Analytics, Computer Networking & Cybersecurity, Game Production Management, Creative Media, Professional Writing, Business Administration: Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Environmental Studies & Policy.  Our newest majors include Applied Mathematics and Degree Design Lab: Create Your Own Major.

No matter which major you choose, your Champlain education will be anything but "typical." Here, there's no such thing!

Sound good? We thought so.

We'd love to show and tell you so much more. Register now!
