Agile and innovative since 1878, the Robert P. Stiller School of Business at Champlain College has continuously offered outstanding degree programs in the country's hottest and most profitable areas of business. Each major features extensive hands-on learning opportunities through marketplace practice projects, simulations, case studies, and fantastic internship opportunities (both local and international). Accountants are needed in virtually every field. This robust major specifically positions you for versatility and growth in your career and across industries. You will learn the skills necessary to work as an accountant, as well as the communication and critical thinking skills needed to advance in the field. We also offer a double major in Accounting and Finance.
The employer-informed curriculum of this flexible major focuses on applied, hands-on learning. It will give you a broad base of business skills, including traditional and time-tested business practices as well as a thoughtful foundation in corporate social responsibility, organizational development, and innovation.
Our Finance major is recognized as a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) University Affiliated program, which is one of the most respected and recognized investment credentials in the world. Taught by professors who have worked on Wall Street as investment bankers, research analysts, and portfolio managers, this ambitious major offers a hands-on approach in which you’ll use the same tools used by professionals.
One of the few degrees of its kind in the country, this major will teach you how to organize, motivate, and oversee groups of game artists, designers, and programmers. You'll gain insight into the ways these creative people develop ideas for games and learn to effectively collaborate to bring games to life. You’ll graduate a smart game-industry strategist and business manager.
Develop analytical frameworks to examine the socioeconomic and cultural forces and issues that affect any international endeavor. Learn to identify international target-market opportunities and challenges, develop import-export strategies, and build short- and long-term business plans for international growth. You can even apply to intern in Shanghai, China, through the Freeman Grant.
