How Experiential Learning Launched My Career (CAREERtalk)

Curious about how hands-on learning translates into life after Champlain? Alumni and current seniors on this panel share how their Champlain experiences outside the classroom — internships, co-ops, service learning, study abroad, and real-world projects — led them to sometimes unexpected careers or opened the door to new opportunities. A candid conversation about how the experiences you gain shape where you end up, and what that means for students navigating today’s emerging industries.

Moderator: Patricia Boera, Co-Director and Career Coach at the Career Collaborative

Panelists:

• Kimberly Benson ‘27, Digital Humanities and Computer Science & Innovation student
• Emma Sipes ‘27, Interaction Design student
• Malia Smith ‘25, Experiential Learning Coordinator at Champlain College

Please note that this event is being offered as part of the Champlain Ready Symposium at Champlain Weekend, but it is open to all students.
