Game Sound Design minor

WHY MINOR IN GAME SOUND DESIGN?

Through Game Sound Design minor, students will develop an understanding of the creative development process and technical methods used in the creation of sound within video games.

Topics that students can choose from include musical and ambient soundtracks, sound effects, voice over, and game engine implementation. This program is designed to allow students full collaboration in their work, which mimics real-world job experiences. The Game Sound Design minor is a unique opportunity for many students to gain valuable experience by learning to implement sound into games.

Upon completion of this minor, you will be able to:

  • Understand foundational knowledge regarding the history of sound and music in the game industry.
  • Create original music and sound effects for games.
  • Be proficient in the operation of an industry-standard digital audio workstation.
  • Implement audio assets within industry-standard game engines.
