We are pleased to announce Champlain College has achieved another milestone toward making our campus safer with the implementation of a campus emergency notification system. Like many colleges and universities nationwide, emergency alert systems are being implemented as a tool to warn campus affiliates when imminent danger is present on or near a college campus.
In cooperation with MIR3 CampusAlert ® software, all Champlain College residential and commuter students are now able to receive emergency alert notifications if a situation arises requiring mass notification be sent alerting everyone of a crisis, imminent danger or other urgent situation. If an alert is sent, students will be given instructions about the present danger and where to go for more information. Please note this service is for Champlain College students only. To participate in the alert system, students must first log in to Champlain College's portal located at https://cu.mir3.com/jsp/security/showLogin.jsp.
Once there, students have access to detailed instructions on how to register to be notified of an emergency. We strongly encourage students to register for this service. Champlain College has borne the costs associated with purchasing the CampusAlert® software. The only cost to receive an alert message lies with a student's mobile phone pricing plan when receiving a text message. Joining the campus alert system is optional and voluntary. However our goal is to achieve 100% participation from all of our students.
