Early Decision FAQs

Early Decision (ED) is a great option for students who know Champlain is where they want to grow. Here are some answers to your questions about the ED application process.

    1. Higher Acceptance Chances: Applying ED demonstrates your strong interest and commitment to Champlain, which can boost your chances of acceptance.
    2. Priority for Popular Majors: ED applicants receive closer consideration for competitive majors with enrollment caps, increasing your likelihood of securing a spot in your desired program.
    3. Early Admission Decision: You’ll receive your admission decision months ahead of Regular Decision applicants, allowing you to plan your college journey well in advance.
    4. Same Financial Aid Consideration: Applying ED ensures you receive the same financial aid consideration as all other applicants, giving you an early estimate of potential aid packages.
    5. Priority Housing Preference: When you choose ED, you’ll receive priority housing preference, including the opportunity to live in a charming Victorian-era mansion on campus.

By choosing Early Decision, you demonstrate your enthusiasm for Champlain College and position yourself for a head start on your academic and personal success.

Early Action FAQs

Early Action (EA) is a great option for students who want to demonstrate their strong interest in Champlain and learn of their admission decision faster.

    1. No Commitment: Early Action is non-binding, meaning students are not required to attend if accepted. It allows you to compare offers and financial aid packages from various schools before making a final decision.
    2. Flexibility: Early Action provides you with more time to make your final college choice.
    3. Less Pressure: Receiving an admissions decision sooner reduces the anxiety of waiting until spring. Knowing you have an acceptance in-hand through Early Action can reduce stress of the regular application process, giving you more time to focus on their studies.
    4. Priority Consideration: Applying Early Action can demonstrate your strong interest in the institution, potentially giving you an edge in the admissions process as your application will be reviewed in a smaller pool of applicants.
