Early Decision is a great option for students who know that Champlain is where they want to be for college. Since you can only apply Early Decision to one school, we should be your top choice!

The advantages of applying Early Decision are:

  • Your chances of getting in are higher.
  • You are considered more closely for our most popular majors with enrollment caps.
  • You'll receive the same financial aid consideration as all other applicants (this may not be true at other institutions, but it's how we roll at Champain).
  • You'll receive your admission decision and financial aid award months before other applicants.
  • You'll enjoy priority housing preference of your Victorian-era mansion

There are two Early Decision deadlines:

  • Early Decision I: November 15
  • Early Decision II: December 15

Our Early Decision I (ED I) deadline is November 15, and our Early Decision II (ED II) deadline is December 15. Students who apply by the ED I deadline will receive their decision by mid-December, and will be considered first for admission to Champlain College (which is particularly useful for students applying to competitive majors with number caps). Students who apply by the ED II deadline will receive their decision by mid-January, and will be considered before Regular Decision students. The earlier you apply, the less competitive the application process will be.

We Are a Test-Optional School

Champlain is a test-optional school. What does that mean to you as an applicant? If you would like us to consider your standardized test scores, by all means, feel free to include them with your submitted application. If you would rather us consider your application without them, we are happy to do that as well.

Personal Interviews Are Wonderful!

You can tell a lot about people by simply speaking with them. We encourage virtual Personal Interviews for high school seniors and transfer students interested in applying to Champlain. The conversation is casual—it's like two friends getting to know one another.
