Military service members and veterans can obtain a wide array of financial aid as well as military benefits from Champlain College. Champlain offers many financial aid options, credit transfer for service members and fields of study relevant to members of the Armed Forces.
Qualified Veterans, military service members, and dependents have several benefit options that may be available to you – the most common being the G.I. Bill®. Benefits are based on a variety of factors and are determined by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
All military applicants admitted into a Champlain degree program automatically receive an annual $10,000 scholarship and are considered for other merit-based scholarships.
Students are eligible to receive college scholarships (which do not need to be repaid) based on achievement, need, and other characteristics. You can count on your scholarships from Champlain being consistent from year to year, renewing annually for as long as you are enrolled full time.
That’s our Count-On-It Financial Aid Guarantee.
Champlain College is committed to assisting military service members and veterans in achieving their educational goals. The Yellow Ribbon Scholarship provides a significant tuition waiver for veterans and their dependents above and beyond the funds provided through the GI Bill. The Yellow Ribbon scholarship covers the full cost of a Champlain College education for qualifying veterans and their dependents, minus contributions from the Veteran Affairs through the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
In addition to tuition assistance, Champlain provides eligible veterans with credit for their training and life experiences. We also offer programs that are relevant to members of the Armed Forces including computer forensics, criminal justice, communication and media and business. Our faculty and staff are ready and willing to help veterans succeed and are appreciative of the service and perspective these service members and veterans bring to the classroom.
In 2022, 20 students received $137,116 in Yellow Ribbon scholarship support.
GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government website.
All admitted applicants who complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are considered for Champlain’s need-based scholarships, which are awarded to those with demonstrated financial need.
