Biography
Frankie Burch currently works as an Area Coordinator in House and Residential Life, and oversees the residential hall of 194 Saint Paul Street. In their time at Champlain College, Frankie has overseen over half of the College’s residence halls and has had the opportunity to support countless students throughout their college careers. While Frankie’s time at Champlain began with them overseeing a majority of first-year students, they have since transitioned into supervising upper-year students, finding excitement in preparing Champlainers for life after college! In addition to working in HRL, Frankie can also be found laughing with students in the WGC and ODI, participating on the staff DEIB Committee, chatting with campus partners at Champlain events, and admiring the view of Lake Champlain from various spots on campus!
Frankie grew up near Bar Harbor, Maine and graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2019 with a degree in English Literature and a minor in International & Global Studies. Working as a Resident Advisor, Tutor, Peer Mentor, and a Student Engagement Liaison throughout their undergraduate experience, Frankie fell in love with the college atmosphere of learning and growth! Their career in Student Affairs at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, where they worked in Residential Communities. Finding that they missed the mountains and kindness of the Northern Woods, they moved back in 2021, and took a job with Champlain College.
Frankie loves the beauty of the Green Mountain State, the kindness of their colleagues at Champlain, and the indescribable passion of Champlain students! Frankie values being a life-long learner and is continuing their educational journey by pursuing a graduate degree in English Literature at the University of Vermont.
Favorite local eateries and things to do in Vermont
Frankie loves packing a picnic and good book before spending the day exploring the countless waterways of Vermont in search of the perfect summer beach! Their favorite local eateries include Mr. Mike’s, Wallflower Collective, Palmer Sugar House, and Four Quarters Brewing!
Hobbies
Kayaking, swimming, reading, painting, crocheting, playing video games, playing my bass guitar, and cuddling with my cat!
