Biography

Professor Jess Gobble (she/they) is a researcher, educator, and interdisciplinary designer from Kansas City, Kansas. Gobble holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and Marketing and a Master of Design in Communication Design from the University of Arkansas. They joined the Creative Studio Department at Champlain College in Fall 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design & Visual Communication. Previously, Gobble served as a Teaching Assistant and Instructor of Record at the University of Arkansas, where they guided students in developing rigorous design research practices and crafting complex visual narratives.

A specialist in interaction design and narrative, Gobble’s thesis explored how designed interactive narratives can foster autonomy among young women with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Beyond their thesis work, Gobble was named a Story & Material Fellow (2024) and has presented research at AIGA’s Design Educators Community Conference and UCDA. Committed to cultivating a community of curiosity, care, and reflection both inside and outside the classroom, Gobble is excited to begin this new chapter at Champlain College.
