Lili Martin

Biography

Lili joins the student health center as a per diem nurse. Lili is also a Clinical Associate Professor of Nursing at UVM.

Lili is currently pursuing her Family Nurse Practitioner certificate at UVM, continuing her commitment to lifelong learning and expanding her capacity to serve individuals, families, and communities. Her clinical interests include primary care, integrative health, gender affirming care and sexual reproductive health, stress management and well-being.

When not at work, Lili enjoys outdoor adventures with her family.

Hannah Marton

Biography

Hannah is the Clinical Operations and Health Promotion Coordinator at the Champlain College Student Health Center. Prior to this position, Hannah worked as the Student Health Center’s Medical Office Coordinator. Hannah embraces her background in social work as the foundation for her professional and personal life. She values working directly with and in service to our students, recognizing that the unique needs of the individual impact the collective needs of the Champlain community. In her free time, Hannah enjoys being outdoors amongst all the natural beauty that Vermont has to offer.

Hiking, skiing, boating — anything outdoors! Spending quality time with friends and family!

Diana Matot

Biography

Diana Matot is a dedicated, long-time Champlain College employee with over 30 years of experience. She began her career with Champlain in the on-campus enrollment area and due to her love of systems moved to the Information Systems team where she is now the Vice President and CIO.

Having grown up in Vermont, Diana has always felt a strong connection to the local community and its values. After completing her education at Champlain, her career began in the insurance industry and after a few years her journey led her back to the College, where she found a dynamic environment that aligns with her commitment to excellence and innovation.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Diana enjoys exploring the natural beauty of Vermont in her Jeep Wrangler with her husband and spending time with family and friends camping, all with her camera in hand capturing the moments.

What are your hobbies?

Photography, Jeep Adventures and Camping.

Loves being on the back roads of Vermont on any of the many jeep adventures with family and friends.

Jessica Mattera

Biography

Jes joined the Champlain College Library team in 2017. As Emerging Technologies Librarian, she is responsible for ensuring there is reliable access to the library’s vast collections, both in print and online. She also delivers in-class information literacy sessions and provides research and reference support to the Champlain community.

Robert Mayer

Biography

Robert Mayer holds a BA and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Georgia, and a MA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. Robert has worked in the defense intelligence industry, in the USA and abroad, as well as in journalism as both a writer and an editor in the computer entertainment sector. He worked on the Papers of James K. Polk at the University of Tennessee, and has done freelance work supporting the design, promotion, and marketing of video games as well. His research interests include antebellum America, race and slavery, military and security issues, computer games, pop culture, cars, and Standard Poodles. Robert has been teaching at Champlain College since 2000, serving in numerous roles supporting the development and delivery of courses across the Champlain curriculum. He lives in Jericho, VT with his wife and three dogs.

Casey Maynes

Biography

Casey grew up in New Hampshire, but has lived in Vermont since 2015 with her husband and two dogs. She loves all things outdoors – hiking, snowboarding, camping, paddle boarding, and fishing. Her goals are to visit every National Park in America and climb the highest peak in every state. Casey loves to read and go to concerts. She is the “cool aunt” to her nieces and nephews and enjoys spending time with family and friends. Casey has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in English and a Master’s degree in Higher Education with a focus in College Administration and Organizational Leadership. She has worked at Champlain College since 2015.

Favorite local eateries and things to do in Vermont:

My favorite eateries are The Hatchet, Stone Corral, and Kotos. I love to enjoy Vermont State Parks and all of the outdoor activities that Vermont has to offer.

Lisa Mazzariello

Biography

Get ready to meet the vibrant and dynamic Lisa Mazzariello, who became a proud member of the Champlain Community back in October 2005. With an impressive track record, she currently rocks the role of Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs, Diversity and Inclusion. Over the course of her career, she also assumed various roles in Student Activities and Residential Life. Her educational background includes a Master’s of Science in Business Administration and Planning from St. Michael’s College, as well as a Bachelor’s of Sciences in Psychology from Castleton State College. Notably, she is an alumna of Champlain College, where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Communications and Public Relations. To this day, her mom still says that “Champlain was the best thing for her daughter, after all it’s where Lisa’s academic and social life began to thrive.” You can still experience this when she gets together with her many alumni friends that she is still in contact with after all these years.

Passionate about student development, Lisa finds great joy in witnessing the transformative “ah-ha” moments in students’ growth. Furthermore, she actively advocates for women’s rights and is an engaged member of the LGBTQ community. Lisa has channeled her passion for education and infused it into her favorite courses to teach; Leadership Seminar, Diversity and Inclusion 101, and Champ 101.

She would also say that she has the honor of working with an amazing team of student affairs professionals. Amongst them they have many different areas of focus. Want to know what the best programs are on campus, where to get your gaming on, find enriching and critical conversations, know the best clubs to join and eat the most bagels? Lisa and her team can show you.

In her spare time, Lisa’s the ultimate outdoor adventurer, embracing Vermont’s breathtaking landscapes like a true explorer. She’s out there kayaking, hiking, and embracing nature—it’s like she’s on a lifelong adventure quest!

And wait for it—the best part! Her partner-in-crime is the adorable golden retriever, Juniper. They’re an inseparable duo, ruling the outdoors and bringing smiles wherever they go.

Samuel McClernon

Biography

Samuel earned a B.A. in German from Arizona State University in 2016 and a M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the same institution in 2017. Prior to starting at Champlain College Online, Samuel worked as an instructor at ASU, teaching English as a second language to international students in both face-to-face and online contexts. His passion for higher education and the opportunities that it offers led him to the world of academic advising. Having experienced online education from both the student and instructor perspective, he is excited to provide students with the best guidance on their own academic journeys. Outside of work, Samuel enjoys spending time with family and friends, brewing coffee, and growing his vinyl record collection.

Melissa McDuffie

Biography

Melissa had a variety of experiences working in the field of psychology both before and after she started teaching including addictions counselor, working in therapeutic foster care, community mental health counselor, school intervention programs, crisis intervention work and running a campus counseling center. She has been teaching since 2001. Her areas of teaching interest include General Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology and Counseling Psychology.

Jason Mcgoff

Biography

When he graduated from high school, he enrolled at SUNY Oswego and received a degree in Computer Science. Once he finished, he worked very briefly and then decided to get a M.S. in Computer Science from Binghamton University. He greatly enjoyed his college experience and would like to help others enjoy it as much as he did. He thinks learning online is a great medium and really enjoy teaching others.
