Biography
Shane is the Campus Services Coordinator here at Champlain. He primarily works to ensure effective campus operations and waste management, as well as improving data management and compliance relating to various operations and services performed by the college. Additionally, Shane provides support to other elements of campus service such as Transportation and the Mail Center.
Shane began working at Champlain in 2026, transitioning from being involved in healthcare research focused on cancer, physical activity, and other forms of primary health prevention designed to help people be healthier and more active. He hopes to bring his passion for healthcare into his new role and help promote healthy living around campus. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Vermont in 2023, and a Master of Science in Physical Activity and Wellness Science from UVM in 2025.
Shane has been a resident of Winooski for the past four years with his fiancée Caitlin and their two cats. Prior to living in Chittenden County, he lived and grew up in Fairfax, Vermont.
Hobbies
Shane loves long-distance running, cross-country skiing, weightlifting, disc golf, ultimate frisbee, and any other excuse to be outside or active.
Favorite local eateries and things to do in Vermont
Some of Shane’s favorite places to eat in Vermont are Stone’s Throw, Donwoori, Morning Light Bakery, and Waterworks. Otherwise, his favorite things to do in Vermont involve immersing himself in the beautiful Green Mountains.
