Do
you want to be a teacher?
Champlain’s got
some news that will make you want to sit up and
take note.
In addition to the Elementary Teacher Education
program, Champlain offers bachelor’s
degree programs in Middle School or High School
Teacher Education. Dual certification makes graduates
of these programs extra-desirable, and extra-flexible,
when filling teaching positions.

Do you have a passion for working
with young children?
Consider the Early Childhood (birth to age eight) and Elementary Education (kindergarten through sixth grade) program.
Do
you have a passion for history and
English?
The Middle
School Teacher Education (grades 5–9) program offers a degree in preparation
for dual certification in language
arts and social studies.
The High
School Teacher Education (grades 7–12) program offers a degree for
certification in English/language arts or history/social
studies. |

Students
who are considering Champlain’s
education programs will choose the grade
level at which they intend to teach
and apply to that degree program.
You may consult with admissions counselors
and Education faculty to discuss your
coursework, interests, work and life
experiences to determine which degree
offers the best fit.
Rest assured that
all of the programs offer incredible
amounts of hands-on classroom time.
As a pre-service teacher, you will be
placed in area classrooms for seven
out of eight semesters, bringing your
real-life experiences back to campus
where they will become fodder for discussion
and the basis for self-reflection. |
