Champlain College Center for Publishing

About the Center for Publishing

Champlain's Center for Publishing is the hub for publications (aka, the Pub Hub) that live in the Division of Communication & Creative Media. This Pub Hub is where you'll find all the information you need to get involved with our three student-run publications as well as a professional magazine.

Through a collaborative process with faculty and staff, students can gain valuable experience, training, and practice in writing, editing, designing, and publishing—as well as graphic and website design, marketing and public relations, event planning, social media management, and public speaking.

This experiential learning goes hand-in-hand with Champlain's distinctive career-driven approach to higher education, embodying the notion that true learning occurs when knowledge and experience can be combined.

Publications

Our three student-run publications are:

  • The Crossover, which publishes news, features, culture, and opinion stories
  • Willard & Maple, our fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and fine arts literary magazine
  • and Chivomengro, a monthly zine of personal essay, satire, and cultural commentary.

Weathervane, the official digital magazine of the CCM division, which is a professional publication that stems from the Dean's Office, is published annually.

Get Involved

We welcome all Champlain students to get involved with any of these publications regardless of their major, or year. For more information, email either the specific publication you are interested in, or the Program Director of the Professional Writing Program, Tanya Lee Stone: tstone@champlain.edu
