About the Center for Publishing
Champlain's Center for Publishing is a writing- and publishing-focused Center of Experience housed in the Division of Communication and Creative Media. Through a collaborative process with faculty and staff, CFP students produce books, magazines and interactive digital publications. They gain valuable experience, training and practice in writing, editing, design and publishing, as well as graphic and website design, marketing and public relations, event planning, social media management, and public speaking. We work to embody Champlain's distinctive career-driven approach to higher education, the notion that true learning occurs when information and experience come together to create knowledge.
The CFP currently produces The Crossover digital student newspaper; The Well, a student lifestyle magazine, published Fall and Spring; Willard & Maple, the college's literary magazine, Weathervane, the official digital magazine of the CCM division, published Fall and Spring; and The Broadside, CFP's monthly email newsletter. We are affiliated with Chivomengro, a digital publication specializing in nonfiction and essays.
We welcome all Champlain students to get involved with any CFP publication regardless of their major or year. For more information, email Managing Editor Kim MacQueen at firstname.lastname@example.org and visit publishing.champlain.edu.
