Charles Kelliher

Biography

Charles is an IT specialist with experience ranging from Cybersecurity, Online Instructor, Project Management, IT Auditing, Business Process Improvement, Service Management, System Administration, Systems Analyst, and Programming. Michael Kelly

Biography

Mike Kelly is Rhetoric professor turned Interdisciplinary Studies expert whose classroom teaching style aims to serve as a bastion of respectful inquiry and relationship-building amidst a global backdrop of bad-faith discursive practices and people being otherwise horrible to one another. As a Lyman Professor award-winner in 2022-23, Mike is a lead faculty in Champlain’s Degree Design Lab and teaches an assortment of courses in the Core Division as well.

While the subject matter of Mike’s courses range from horror movies to the rhetoric of professionalism, they all offer students a variety of academic experiences that sit on the edge of disciplinary boundaries that prepare students to be adaptable thinkers who can move fluidly across a variety of academic and professional contexts.

Outside the classroom, Mike has held a series of leadership positions at Champlain, including Faculty Senate President, academic program review committee chair and NECHE accreditation specialist. He lives in South Burlington with his wife Jamie, three teenage sons and two rescue mutts.

Mariam Khader

Biography

Mariam Khader is an Assistant Professor at Champlain College, USA, who is highly recognized for her expertise in Computer Science, IT Security, and Digital Criminology. She has earned her PhD and MSc in the respective fields and is currently a researcher at the Leahy Center, where she focuses on Mobile and Operating System Forensics. Her research has been published in numerous international journals and presented at various conferences. In addition to working as a course author and speaker, Mariam has also worked as a freelance instructor, providing technical instruction to government and private firms as well as other organizations. She has obtained many professional certifications, such as CHFI, ECIH, CCNA, CCME, CCO, CMFF, CCPA, AIM, and OCF. And currently serves as a member of SWGDE.

As a professor at Champlain College, Mariam have embraced the Learning by Doing approach. By assigning students tasks that require students to learn how and why to do the task as they complete it, the tasks become more engaging and memorable, thus helping them develop essential success skills.

Having worked in various advertising agencies, promotional agencies, small firms, client-side and freelance, he brings a wealth of knowledge in various disciplines of design across a multitude of industries.

Leslye Kornegay

Biography

Dr. Leslye Kornegay is an inspiring Executive Leader, Educator, and Author who is currently making a significant impact at Duke University as the Executive Director of Facilities Management University Environmental Services. After her tenure at the University of Vermont, she chose Duke to broaden her work in facilities management and services. Her commitment to improving the lives of the university’s service employees, many of whom face challenges, is a true testament to her passion. At Duke, she skillfully manages a $28 million budget, engages in strategic planning, and leads a dedicated team of 300 employees who serve the university community and oversee waste management efforts.

Fred Kosnitsky

Biography

Fred’s academic background is in the biological/ecological sciences and the environmental studies realm. He has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Williams College, has studied Ecology at the graduate level at Dartmouth College, and has a Masters degree in environmental law and policy from the Environmental Law Center of Vermont Law School.

For the past four decades he has been involved in the environmental arena as a Board member of groups such as Vermont Earth Institute, the Vermont Public Interest Research Group, 350vermont.org, and the Voice of the Potash Brook Watershed. He has written columns on nature and the environment for the Vermont Times, The Other Paper in South Burlington, and the Saint Albans Messenger. He is currently a member of the South Burlington Energy Committee. Fred has taught at Community College of Vermont since 1983, and has joined Champlain College as an adjunct in 2023.

Jalil Laalami Ouali

Biography

Jalil has been working in the game industry for over 15 years on three continents. After working on AAA content and coordinating QA teams on massive projects, Jalil went back to smaller teams where he had a stronger influence on company culture and direction. Indie life allowed him to explore AR, VR, playable ads, event installations and his personal favorite: procedural content generation. With a contagious smile and a talent for doing more with less, Jalil is currently coaching emerging indies on production management, Agile principles and happiness at work.

Al Larsen

Biography

Al Larsen is a media artist and writer whose work engages with ideas of public space and populist uses of media technologies. He works in and across multiple media and processes including programmable technologies, textiles, performance, audio production and printmaking. His work has shown in festivals in the US and internationally and his writing on popular culture, art and performance has appeared in P-Queue, Careless Talk Costs Lives, Plan B and The Squealer. He directs toe Creative Media BFA program at Champlain College.
