Full-Time Faculty Award: The Edward Phelps Lyman Professorship

The Edward Phelps Lyman Professorship is awarded to a senior faculty member of the College community who has shown dedication to students and Champlain College through a record of service and excellence in teaching and advising and through work on faculty and College committees.

Adjunct Faculty Award: The Francine Page Excellence in Teaching Award

The Francine Page Excellence in Teaching Award bears the name of an adjunct faculty member of the College community who has shown dedication to students and to the mission of Champlain College through a demonstration of excellence in teaching. Further, a person who has demonstrated a commitment to striving for excellence both in content expertise and pedagogically sound teaching and learning practices. The Francine Page Excellence in Teaching Award exemplifies these qualities and is named by the Board of Trustees.

Faculty Emeriti

The College grants emerita/emeritus status to retired faculty in recognition of their sustained contributions to Champlain College.  The designation of emerita/emeritus status is awarded to those who throughout their distinguished careers have excelled in the multiple roles of the professoriate: teaching and student engagement, institutional service, professional development, scholarship and collegiality and who have served a significant portion of their careers at Champlain. In awarding this designation, the College extends a culminating honor to the recipients for their past contributions and encourages a future relationship through sustained participation in the social and ceremonial functions of the faculty.
