Cigna is our health insurance provider with in and out-of-network coverage options as well as prescription coverage.

Depending on your enrollment choices, you may also have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pair with your health insurance.

Health Savings Account (HSA)

Depending on your enrollment choices, you may also have a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pair with your health insurance. The HSA is only available to employees who have elected the Silver or Bronze HDHP medical plan.

An HSA is an individual account with our vendor HealthEquity which has contributions added pre-tax through payroll deduction to spend on eligible expenses towards health, dental, and/or vision expenses.

You own the account and you control how money is spent. Unused funds rollover from year to year.

Employee contributions can be made with pre-tax dollars via payroll deduction and the College’s contributions will be made to your account on a bi-weekly basis.

Northeast Delta Dental Insurance

Champlain College offers two dental plans through Northeast Delta Dental. There are differences in coverage although both include preventative, restorative, and orthodontic services.

Vision Insurance

Champlain College offers two vision coverage options through VSP Vision Care. Both plans include an eye exam each year, prescription lenses, frames or contact lenses each year (refer to the coverage chart below for plan details). Using in-network providers incurs a higher level of benefits.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

The College’s FSA with Navia Benefits allows you to set aside money from your paycheck before income taxes are withheld.

There are multiple types of FSAs you may participate in which allow you to set aside funds for medical, dental, vision and/or dependent care expenses (such as day care or eldercare for IRS dependents). If you are enrolled in a high deductible health plan (such as the Bronze or Silver plans), you qualify for a Limited Purpose FSA which may be used for dental and vision expenses (your HSA would be prioritized for medical expenses). If you are enrolled in a low deductible plan (such as the Gold plan), you qualify for a Healthcare FSA which may be used for medical, dental, and vision expenses. It is important to ensure you understand the requirements and tax implications of an FSA prior to enrolling.

Nationwide offers two ready-made employee plans and the ability to customize a coverage plan for individual pets and their specific care needs.

Benefits of Pet Insurance through Nationwide:

  • Comprehensive Coverage: Options include coverage for accidents, illnesses, and wellness (annual visits, vaccinations).
  • Flexible Premiums: Your premium is based on your pet’s age, breed, and location.
