Vermont’s High School Dual Enrollment Program
Administered by the Vermont Agency of Education, Vermont’s Dual Enrollment program lets you take college-level classes that count toward both your high school graduation requirements and college credits.
Who Can Apply?
You can apply if you:
- Are a Vermont resident
- Have completed 10th grade (are a rising junior or senior)
- Haven’t received a high school diploma yet
- Are enrolled in a Vermont public school, Career Technical Education (CTE) Center, or are a home study student
How to Apply
- Talk to your school counselor to make sure dual enrollment is right for you.
- Create an account in the Vermont Dual Enrollment System website: https://dualenrollment.vermont.gov/vtde.
- Request a voucher through the system (your school counselor will approve it).
- Select your course using your voucher number. If your course is not listed select “Course Not Listed” and we will contact you to confirm the course name.
- Apply to Champlain College.
- Check your college email regularly for important information.
Important Notes
- Your voucher request and application must both be complete in order for us to enroll you in a course.
- Dual Enrollment vouchers may be used for on-campus undergraduate courses only.
- You can take up to two college courses for free
- Vouchers cover tuition but not textbooks, lab fees, or other materials
- You must use your vouchers before graduating high school
- If you have an IEP or 504 plan, talk to your counselor about accommodations
- Your dual enrollment course will appear on both your high school and college transcripts

Non-Degree Students
Champlain College offers non‐degree admission to students who wish to take undergraduate courses without pursuing an undergraduate degree, both on our Burlington campus and online, for qualifying adults.
Who Can Apply?
You can apply at our Burlington campus if you:
- Are a high school student who plans to take a college‐level course during high school, but will not be using Vermont Dual Enrollment vouchers.
- Are a student from another college or university who wants to take a course but will graduate from another institution. It is the responsibility of the student to have the course(s) reviewed by the home institution for transfer.
- Are a college graduate needing additional credits to qualify for admission to a graduate or professional school.
- Are a person who is taking a class for personal enrichment but not to obtain a degree. Generally, these students will audit a course as they are not seeking credit.
Permission to attend Champlain College as a non‐degree student does not guarantee admission to Champlain College as a degree-seeking student. Non‐degree students are limited to 15 credit hours for undergraduate level courses.
Registering as a Non-Degree Student for Our Burlington Campus
To register as an undergraduate non-degree student at Champlain College, you must complete the following Non-Degree Student Registration Form. All non-degree students are registered on a space available basis one week prior to the start of the term or semester. Financial aid is not available for non-degree students.

Registering as a Non-Degree Student for Champlain College Online
Adults who wish to register as non-degree student for Champlain College Online must complete a short application so we can understand the courses you’re interested in and your motivation for completing them. We’ll also request a resume to make sure you have the requisite skills and knowledge to be successful in your non-degree coursework. Financial aid is not available for non-degree students.
