Whether you find a passion for investment management on Wall Street, corporate finance on Main Street, or the diverse opportunities the global economy offers, the Robert P. Stiller School of Business's Finance degree will prepare you to excel in this competitive field.
In our Upside-Down Curriculum, you'll start your Finance classes in your first semester and continue your major studies through all four years of college. Our multifaceted program will teach you the skills necessary for accounting, portfolio management, financial analysis, and quantitative methods, and enable you to further address your own interests, current trends, and specific employer needs.
You and your peers will work with real clients on actual cases, using the data used by financial professionals. You'll gain additional practical experience through paid internships, peer-tutoring positions, and competitions that will further develop your finance savvy.
Your classes in the Stiller School will never be in a giant lecture hall. Our small class sizes make for deeper discussions and more engaging projects. You'll have ample opportunity for one-on-one interactions and mentorship from your Finance professors, who bring their real-world knowledge into the classroom.
Champlain's Finance major is the only one in Vermont recognized as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) University Affiliated program. The CFA designation is the most respected and recognized investment credential in the world, and is often called the gold standard for the investment management industry.
As a CFA Affiliated University, our Finance program prepares you well for the CFA exams. This affiliation allows you to be eligible for certain scholarships and provides access to numerous educational resources.
Gain hands-on experience by managing a portion of the College's endowment with guidance from faculty members and industry professionals. You will weigh factors that affect stock choice, select stocks, consider which assets will perform the best, and evaluate performance on risk and return.
