Center for Service & Sustainability
Community engagement is an integral part of Champlain College's mission to educate today's students to become engaged global citizens. Champlain has always had a commitment to helping address the issues that we face in Burlington and beyond. We know our community partners rely on our support and involvement. We also know students value the experience of making a difference.
Champlain has recognized that more intentional and meaningful service can happen when it is tied to a classroom experience, as opposed to through a series of one-time service events. As such, the Center for Service and Civic Engagement office is shifting to the Center for Service and Sustainability, with a primary focus on academic service-learning. Stay tuned for updates as we roll out the new Center in 2016-2017.
Champlain will continue to offer opportunities for students, faculty and staff to engage in volunteer service. For students, the Champlain College LEAD program, which has a community service component, is now part of our Career Collaborative.
Our campus sustainability initiative, Sustain Champlain, is now part of the Center for Service and Sustainability.
