Champlain College encourages all students to apply for financial aid—it's the only way to know if you will be eligible for grants, federal work study, loans, and scholarships, and it will not affect your chances of being admitted.
The financial aid application process is separate from the admissions application. Do not wait for your admissions acceptance before applying for financial aid.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only financial aid application required by Champlain College in order to receive a financial aid award. All admitted students who complete the FAFSA will be considered for Champlain’s need-based awards and merit scholarships with no additional applications necessary.
***You MUST complete an application for EVERY YEAR you seek financial aid***
Students seeking need-based funding from Champlain should submit the FAFSA by the priority filing date found below. Although applications are accepted throughout the year, our need-based scholarships are awarded first to students who meet the FAFSA priority filing date and then on a rolling basis, if funds are available.
Submit your application for admission to Champlain College, but please do NOT wait to get your admission decision to apply for the FAFSA. In fact, if it is more convenient for your search process, you can complete your FAFSA and submit it to Champlain even before you submit your application for admission.
Create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID for yourself and for your parent. The FSA ID will be used to electronically sign the federal financial aid forms.
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
