Dr. Craig Winstead is a dynamic and innovative leader with over 22 years of experience in project management, continuous improvement, and education. He is a dedicated professional who is passionate about preparing students for success in the global economy.

Dr. Winstead has a proven track record of success in both the corporate and academic worlds. Before transitioning into academia, he worked for 12 years (8 in management positions) at Verizon Communications, where he developed and delivered training programs for employees at all levels of the organization and managed complex projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders.

As an Associate Professor with tenure at Saint Leo University, Dr. Winstead has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels for over 11 years. He also served as the Management & Operations Department Chair for five years, overseeing the Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management disciplines.

While at Saint Leo, Dr. Winstead was instrumental in developing a new undergraduate program in Project Management and an MBA in Project Management. He also oversaw the implementation of numerous initiatives related to accreditation, curriculum design, micro-credentialing, industry outreach, and committee leadership.

Dr. Winstead is a highly respected leader in the field of business education. He is a Project Management Institute (PMI) member and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Dr. Winstead is also a frequent speaker at conferences and workshops on project management, decision-making, ethics, and technology in the classroom. He holds a Ph.D. in Organization & Management from Capella University, an M.S. in Leadership & Business Ethics from Duquesne University, a Master's Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor's in Theater Arts from Bowdoin College. 

Dr. Winstead is honored to take the helm of the Stiller School of Business at Champlain College. He is excited to work with faculty, staff, and students to continue to build on the school's reputation as an innovator in business education and entrepreneurship.
